1. Mars conjoins Uranus on the 1st and squares Saturn on the 7th, kicking off an action-packed month. From the last few days of July through August 8th, Mars in Taurus is urging action on a grand scale but finding plenty of obstacles to overcome. Ideally, this phase is a good time to work on some practical project or goal while understanding the inherent risks and challenges within your community or network. Otherwise, beware of accidents, frustrations building up, and dangerous people in general. After the 2nd, find a healthy balance between pushing too hard and not doing enough. Step-by-step makes real progress.
2. Ceres trines Jupiter on the 11th, but is in effect from 8th through 13th. With both Ceres and Jupiter in Fire signs (Leo and Aries), this enhances and energizes all nurturing functions, especially parent-child relationships. This combination is a great time to get involved in shared recreational activities, teaching good sportsmanship, and enjoying outdoor picnics or barbecues. Ceres here is also interested in taking care of Mother Nature, and these days are favorable for all kinds of environmental causes, including dealing with global warming. Or just enjoy the calm serenity or wild scenarios found in nature with a loved one. The Ceres-Jupiter vibe also favors the student-teacher relationship, whether in school or any less structured interactions.
3. The Full Moon in Aquarius on the 11th illuminates the ongoing Saturn-Uranus square, focusing on the deep challenges involved in this outer planet square. The Sun and Moon “translate the light” by first squaring Uranus at 18º Taurus and then aligning with Saturn at 22º Aquarius. This makes the 10th though 14th extra tense, bringing many developing scenarios to their logical conclusions for better or worse. Many will feel unusually restless and may have difficulty sleeping at night during this interval. The Full Moon chart set in Washington (9:35 pm EDT) features a retrograde Neptune right on the Ascendant – not a good sign for getting things done. Scandal is in the air.
4. Uranus turns retrograde on the 24th, marking its midpoint in its three-month journey through 18º Taurus. Those with prominent placements at 17º - 19º of the fixed signs have already been feeling this one. Whatever changes Uranus has been introducing into your life, the process is likely to continue through October. That’s when Saturn turns direct at 18º Aquarius, forcing a consolidation, a kind of reconciliation of what works for your future, and what traditional path remains viable and growth oriented. Uranus makes its station while harmoniously sextile Juno, the partnership asteroid. From the 15th through 25th this Juno-Uranus combo favors all shared activities and enhances the friendship side of intimacy.
5. The Sun squares Mars on the 27th, a highly energetic dynamic effective from the 20th through the 28th. Since Mars is in Gemini during this interval, you can expect that verbal and written interchanges will become more direct, confrontational, self-assertive, and long-winded. This dynamic duo favors travel (brief trips or outings), multi-tasking, presenting your best case, and following up on your best option. The downside includes the possibility of traffic mishaps, not paying attention to what you’re doing (and the potential consequences), and becoming so self-absorbed that you lose empathy with those close to you. Avoid impulsive actions and you can accomplish a lot during this phase.
