When you are blessed with the gift of healing to others than you are a conduit of receiving and distributing energy. Only a pure open vessel can be filled by the Great Spirit with the nectar of healing and than released to drink by the one who needs this. For a great healer is like a cup that has just been washed, for the liquid you fill it with will not be tainted by any liquid that was within it before, for the cup will only have the properties that you fill it with. The healer has to purify and cleanse oneself within before receiving the energy needed from the Great Spirit to heal another. Just as if the cup has a cover than it cannot be filled until the cover is removed, for this has been a problem for many healers who have been unsuccessful in their attempts because they had a block within them to receive the energy needed. Any hidden agenda or not releasing any negative energy you had recently will give you this block. For truly you are only the cup and not the contents in the cup, for it will take many years before you can achieve to be a clean open cup for the Great Spirit.
