Lord of the Underworld Pluto, conjunct Medusa, archetype of collective trauma, in Capricorn, opposes Wisdom Warrior Pallas Athena and Black Moon Lilith conjunct in Cancer. Athena stations retrograde on Wednesday so is extra-potent.
Patriarchal patterning and profound emotional, mystical intelligence are in contrast and conflict right now. This reflects the soul's journey through humanness and the calling to constantly come back to the Mystery of 'who this is' in a physical form. To discover deeper frequencies of Feminine intelligence in a world that right now does generally support that. To listen to the subtle messages that seem illogical or contradictory to the status quo.
These aspects deeply reflect how we can support ourselves through Pluto in Capricorn's demand of deconstruction of what no longer serves, i.e., inner patterning that brings us security or status, and collective structures and systems that no longer serve. The key theme being : what do I give authority and power to that no longer has value? And it can be very subtle...
The contrasts lie between qualities such as: discipline and compassion; strength and tenderness; aloneness and connection; coldness and kindness; boundaries and accommodating. It's the archetypal play of father/mother within the self and ways we have adapted our self (personally and collectively) to fit in or belong.
These aspects suggest a way through any current challenges is through empathy - not as a way of keeping oneself safe - but as a motivator for evolution. For the way of emotional intelligence is always acceptance of 'what is' first. The collective element to this - revealed by Medusa - is that we are all wounded, in terms of our disconnection from 'mother' i.e. our Earth and the Great Mother.
As these aspects are oppositional, the play may come through conflict with another acting as a mirror for the quality most needed within oneself. The uplift depends on the individual's energetic make-up, so could be Capricornian in nature i.e. stepping up with self response-ability and integrity, or Cancerian i.e. opening in vulnerability, being unconditionally loving.
These energies are strong now through to 13 December when Pluto exactly opposes Black Moon Lilith. As Athena is retrograde, there is a further opposition in early May 2023, but with Pluto newly arrived in Aquarius and Athena in Leo.
However these energies play out now, it's a potential for a finer engagement of reparenting the most tender aspects of self, that then opens and releases sticky places of powerlessness, or unhealthy attachment. True individuality - self connected and available for a sweet deep feeling connection with others, unattached and beyond the demands of 'I need you' - becomes a living reality. We're reaching the core : where the wounds of holding back disable integrated loving self-connection and authenticity.
